Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and aerospace development, asserts that Atiku Abubakar must track down the supplier who gave President Bola Tinubu a duplicate credential from Chicago State University in order to support his allegations against the Nigerian president.
Several remarks on the Tinubu’s academic records’ suit filed by the 2023 People’s Democratic Party presidential contender, according to Keyamo, are inappropriate and ‘useless’, he claimed in a tweet on his verified X handle (previously Twitter) on Sunday.
In his own words, “Some comments or perceptions of otherwise obvious and easy matters are so stupid, cunning, or simply vile, they truly do not merit a response because you’d be dignifying folly. But allow me to say this now for reference:
For more than 30 years, I have represented both the prosecution and the defence in criminal proceedings at the highest level. Unless the purported creator of the document disputes its authenticity or there is undisputed evidence from a forensic report that categorically states that the document was deliberately altered or tampered with by the person who uttered (in a legal sense) or issued it, you cannot claim or prove forgery.
Applying this theory to the Atiku Abubakar v. Chicago State University case, it can be said that all the talk about supposed forgeries is pointless until THE SPECIFIC VENDOR WHO ISSUED the replacement certificate to @officialABAT denies its authenticity. THE UNIVERSITY HAS OPENLY STATED THEY DO NOT ISSUE REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATES, BUT THAT VENDORS DO SO ON THEIR BEHALF. And it is the accuser’s responsibility to track down the alleged vendor and provide that proof. Not in the other direction, though. A claimant must provide evidence.
This is the straightforward idea that I outlined in 2019 when we defended President Buhari, and it has been slyly hailed as if it hit the target. Unluckily for them, @officialABAT is as clear-cut and impartial on this matter as snow, and we are once more anticipating their arrival at the Supreme Court.
Regarding ATIKU Abubakar, the infamous “SPV king” who brought shame upon Nigeria by implicating Congressman William Jefferson in a money-laundering scheme, we acknowledge the farewell speech he gave a few days ago, announcing his retirement from politics, and we wish him well in his new role.
