The Kenya Police Service has apprehended Nadeem Anjarwalla, a fleeing Binance executive. Confidential government sources, who requested anonymity due to lack of authorization to discuss the matter, confirmed this development to our correspondent on Sunday evening.

One source revealed, “Nadeem Anjarwalla, an executive at Binance, has been detained by the Kenya Police Service and is set to be extradited to Nigeria this week with the assistance of INTERPOL.”

Another source added, “As previously mentioned, Anjarwalla’s extradition was imminent. He has now been apprehended in Kenya and will be extradited to Nigeria this week.”

The Federal Government successfully located Anjarwalla in Kenya after his escape from Nigerian custody. Consequently, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the International Criminal Police, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenyan Police Service are intensifying discussions to expedite Anjarwalla’s extradition.

Anjarwalla, who had been in hiding since arriving in Kenya, has now been located. Efforts are underway to collaborate with Kenyan authorities to repatriate him to Nigeria.

The government, along with various security agencies, is collaborating closely with Kenyan authorities and INTERPOL to ensure the return of the accused individual to Nigeria to face the charges against him, as reported by a source.

In the latest edition of the EFCC bulletin, Chairman Ola Olukoyede confirmed the commission’s partnership with INTERPOL, the FBI, and other international bodies to extradite Anjarwalla, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges related to tax evasion, currency speculation, and money laundering.

The EFCC’s proactive stance in prosecuting Binance executives sends a strong message about its commitment to safeguarding the country’s forex market, with the extradition process for Anjarwalla already underway and international cooperation playing a crucial role in bringing him to justice.
