Kenya Approves Visa-Free Entry for All African Citizens, Excludes Two Countries
Kenya has implemented a visa-free policy for all African nations but has notably excluded two countries, citing security and diplomatic concerns.
Kenya will now allow citizens from almost every African country to visit without needing prior authorization.
As reported by the BBC, a recent cabinet directive in Kenya will allow citizens from almost all African nations to visit without needing prior authorization.
A cabinet statement announced the abolition of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) requirement for all African countries, except Somalia and Libya, due to security concerns.
In the updated system, citizens from most African countries will be permitted to enter and remain without a visa for up to two months.
In addition, citizens of the East African Community—which includes Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi—will be allowed to stay for up to six months in accordance with the bloc’s policy.
While a specific timeline for the policy’s implementation has not been established, Kenya intends to launch an improved system that allows instant travel approval, ensuring processing is completed within 72 hours.
