According to LP, Kenneth Okonkwo’s exit was no surprise as they accuse him of being a mole within the party.
Kenneth Okonkwo’s departure from the Labour Party (LP) was expected, and he has been labeled a mole by the party.
It was stated by the Party that Okonkwo’s assault on Peter Obi, their presidential candidate for 2023, was regrettable and a bid at attracting attention.
According to OBASANJONEWS, on Sunday Okonkwo, an LP chieftain, expressed doubt in Obi’s capability of creating a party capable of winning elections.
The actor-turned politician stated that Obi has demonstrated inadequate capability to secure the mandate, even if he receives votes from the people.
He stated that the recent events within his party motivated him to resolve to plot a fresh path for his political adventure.
In a statement, Obiora Ifoh – the National Publicity Secretary of the LP – responded by stating that Okonkwo’s resignation from the party was not unexpected.
According to Ifoh, the party considered Okonkwo’s criticism of Obi unfortunate and a way to seek attention.
It wasn’t unexpected that Kenneth Okonkwo resigned from the Labour Party, but it’s regrettable that he criticized Peter Obi, leader of the party.
He stated that they would persist in not acknowledging him as he possessed an insatiable need for attention.
The LP spokesperson confirmed that the party’s dedication to endorse Obi as their presidential nominee for 2027 remained unchanged.
