In Umuahia, Abia State, a tricycle driver known only as Chigozie was detained for the murder of his girlfriend and the subsequent dumping of her body in a bush.
Ajata Ibeku resident Chigozie is suspected of committing the crime on Wednesday but was apprehended by vigilant villagers.
According to reports, Chigozie was fighting with the unnamed girlfriend when she slid, hit her head on the floor, and passed away.
Another villager asserted Chigozie was having “marathon sex” with his lover when the woman passed away.
The villager who identified himself as Nze claimed that the suspect was apprehended by some neighborhood kids after he had finished disposing of his dead girlfriend’s body in the trash and made an attempt to flee after doing so.
The suspect has been turned over to the police for further investigation, and the deceased girlfriend’s body has been placed in an unidentified mortuary.
Chioma Maureen Chinaka, the PPRO for the police, has yet to respond to the development as of the time of this report.
