Katsina Security: Community Watch Corps Nabs Drug Supplier to Bandits
Katsina’s Community Watch Corps has arrested a suspect accused of supplying illegal drugs to bandits. Learn more about the arrest and ongoing investigations.
Umar Shehu was caught by the Katsina Community Watch Corps (CWC) for purportedly providing illicit injections and drugs to bandits who engage in abductions within Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Bakatsine, a Conflict and Crisis Journalist in the Northwest region who is also a security expert, reported the arrest on X through a post.
A video was posted along with the article that displayed a substantial amount of syringes and featured Umar Shehu admitting to his participation in illicit activities.

The post reads, “Great news! Umar Shehu has been captured by the Katsina Community Watch Corp (CWC) in Ɗandume Local Government Area for his involvement in providing illegal injections and drugs to bandits involved in kidnappings within Sabuwa LGA of Katsina State.”
According to an insider, the security team obtained vital information from Umar and several others. However, only Umar’s details were captured in the video while those of other individuals weren’t documented due to security concerns.
