Yusuf held onto the boy in his room for one night following the abduction, before transferring him to another location without knowledge of being monitored by police operatives.
Yusuf was reported to have made an anonymous phone call by Aliyu, informing the father about the abduction. The police responded quickly and mobilized a team led by DPO GRA Katsina who successfully located Yusuf, rescued the boy unscathed and apprehended the suspect.
Upon interrogation, Yusuf admitted to committing the crime and will face charges in court once investigations are complete.
