Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw disapproves of the present administration’s choice to play the previous national anthem again.
She criticised the timing of the move in particular, asking how the nation’s suffering would be addressed by going back to the traditional anthem.
The actor bemoaned the “excoriating hardship and lack of good governance on every level” that the nation is currently experiencing.

She jokingly posted on her X handle, saying, “Going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much needed drug, in the midst of excoriating hardship & lack of good governance on every level but not to worry.”
Henshaw said, “The labour of our heroes past… o ti lo [is gone],” in another post.
According to Obasanjonews.com, President Bola Tinubu signed National Anthem Bill 2024 into law on Wednesday, bringing back the traditional anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
