The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed concern over the possibility of certain unidentified politicians attempting to commandeer the August 1 demonstration in an effort to create chaos within the region.

On Wednesday, Yusuf addressed the public and revealed that some politicians with selfish intentions have been planning to exploit the protests as a cover for causing chaos.

According to the governor, “Our doors are open for protesters who wish to engage in peaceful discussions at the Government House. I won’t avoid them; they can share their opinions with us and then take my stakeholders and me along as we present our stance on this matter to President Tinubu.”

He urged the Federal Government to swiftly review fuel and electricity prices, as well as grant access for imported goods by lifting borders.

Yusuf implored the government to make life easier for Nigerians by lowering the prices of essential commodities and services.

I want to remind everyone that when we joined this team, our primary focus was on restoring the peace which had been lost in the state.

According to him, there is evidence of disenchanted individuals and politicians planning to buy red hats which will be distributed among hoodlums for the purpose of participating in protests, vandalizing stores and murdering innocent people.

According to the governor, his administration is intending on establishing a price control bureau within the state with the aim of maintaining stable prices and enforcing uniform pricing for goods.
