Kano’s Hisbah renders a verdict about the woman who marries her daughter’s boyfriend.

In the state’s Rano Local Government Area, a mother who married her daughter’s previous suitor was given approval by the Kano State Hisbah Board.

According to Platinumpost, the mother, Malama Khadija Rano, divorced her husband before marrying her daughter’s boyfriend.

The incident happened after Khadija’s daughter Aisha turned down a suitor, setting off a dispute that led the Hisbah Board to appoint a committee to look into the matter.

The Hisbah committee’s report on the marriage investigation was turned in on Tuesday night.

The report’s presenter, Hussain Ahmed, the committee’s chairman and deputy commander in charge of Hisbah Special Operations, explains that the committee found that the marriage was legal and complied with all requirements.

He claimed that the woman, Khadija Rano, had received a divorce from her ex-husband and had waited the three months required by Islam before getting married to a man who had previously been rejected by her biological daughter.

Ahmed refuted claims that Khadijah was having an affair with her new spouse while still married and that she coerced her husband into divorcing her so that her daughter’s prospective husband could wed her.

He said that the Rano Local Government Area’s Hisbah commander supported and took part in the wedding rites because the marriage was recognised as legal under Islamic law.

The Hisbah Board’s commander general, Sheikh Harun Ibn Sina, responded by praising the committee for its excellent work.

He asserted that the committee members’ social orientation and depth of knowledge of Islamic teachings led to their thorough selection.
