Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf is travelling to the Supreme Court to appeal the Appeal Court’s decision to remove him from office.
Recall that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, was declared the state’s victor in the gubernatorial election, whereas Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was dismissed by the Appeal Court for being unable to run.

Regarding the ruling from the Appeal Court that dismissed Yusuf, there has been uncertainty.
In order to make adjustments, the court has requested that the involved solicitors return certified true copies of its ruling.
Yusuf was declared not to have been a NNPP member at the time of the election by the Appeal Court.
But the certified authentic copies of the ruling caused confusion because they said the court had upheld Yusuf’s triumph.
