Kano guber election petition is still pending judgement by the tribunal
The All Progressives Congress, APC, filed a petition challenging the win of Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, but the Kano State governorship election petition tribunal has postponed judgement in that case.
The three-man panel’s head, Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, who had pledged on their behalf to treat all parties fairly, claimed the decision will be made sooner than the legally required 180 days.
After each party’s last remarks, the meeting was adjourned.
The APC pleaded with the tribunal during its closing argument in court to grant its appeal and declare Nasir Gawuna the election’s victor.
Yusuf, the NNPP, and INEC requested the tribunal to reject the petition.
Political party and their supporters are not permitted to demonstrate in Kano State, according to the Police Command.
In a speech to reporters on Monday at the command’s headquarters in Kano, the commissioner of police, Mr. Usuani Gumel, declared the ban during a news conference.
