In order to prevent the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, from looking into former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, the Kano State Government withdrew their lawsuit from the Federal High Court, Kano.

The notification of withdrawal of the court-filed lawsuit was contained in a letter dated July 4th, 2023, addressed to Sanusi Musa, SAN, and signed by Kano Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi.

The letter states: “We write to notify you that Kano State Government and the Attorney General of Kano State wish to debrief you of the earlier instructions, given to you to handle the case NO: FHC/ KN/71/2023 between Attorney General of Kano State and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).”

According to the letter, Sanusi Musa, SAN, and his team have been told not to pursue the matter further by attending court or filing any paperwork related to it.

To prevent the EFCC from looking into the contentious dollar video under the prior governor through the Ministry of Justice, the Kano State Government issued a fiat instrument.
