Dr Mansur Nagoda, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Hospitals Management Board, has given his approval for the immediate suspension of a medical officer at the Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital due to multiple complaints of negligence.
According to Dr Nagoda, the suspended doctor left the hospital without informing any officer or the hospital management, which he considered a serious breach of protocol.
Despite numerous attempts to contact the suspended medic, she claimed to be on the premises but failed to show up, leaving a dialysis patient in a state of fear and uncertainty.

Emphasizing the importance of the oath taken by doctors to protect lives, the Executive Secretary urged all healthcare professionals to prioritize their responsibilities and be diligent in their duties.
Dr Nagoda advised doctors to arrange proper shift schedules with their colleagues if they need to be absent, ensuring that patient care is not compromised.
The suspension will remain in effect until the investigation is concluded, as the board remains committed to upholding accountability and professionalism within the healthcare system.
