Hassana and Husaina Hassan Isa, conjoined twins from Nigeria who were born in Kano, will have their surgical separation made possible by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSARelief), situated in Saudi Arabia.
Due to their shared vital organs and chest connect, Hassana and Husaina’s separation is a difficult and complex surgical process.
Their narrative touched the emotions of millions of people all around the world, bringing attention to the critical need for specialised medical care.
In a statement released on Monday, the press attaché to the Saudi Embassy in Abuja, Mohammed Alsahabi, stated: “KSA Relief, in association with a Saudi team of distinguished surgeons and medical experts, had started on a voyage to give these two young lives the chance for a better and healthier future.
“This groundbreaking procedure in the realm of paediatric surgery is set to occur at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh.
The conjoined twins will go through a comprehensive medical evaluation, and paediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses have been convened to oversee the entire process by a team of professionals.

“A support system will be in place to offer comfort and assistance to the twins’ family during their journey,” the announcement added of the accommodations they will be staying in Riyadh.
The article further stated that the King Salman Humanitarian help and Relief Centre was founded in 2015 and has since carried out more than 2,500 programmes to provide help and relief to 94 nations.
The special Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme is only one example of how Saudi Arabia has focused a lot of attention on the medical needs of many other nations.
“Since its launch in 1990, the programme has examined 133 pairs of conjoined twins that were referred from 24 different nations. The Saudi programme has been successful in separating 59 sets of twins.
The statement went on, “For the betterment and interest of the brotherly and friendly Nigerian people, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed to continuing to provide all necessary humanitarian relief and aid to Nigeria.”
King Salman bn Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia was commended by Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, for his humanitarian assistance to the people of Kano State.
Together with his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, and other cabinet members, the governor observed the conjoined twins being airlifted to Saudi Arabia via the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
