Kano: APC vice chairman, Appeal Court verdict has vindicated- Ganduje
The All Progressives Congress’s (APC) National Vice Chairman for the North West, Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad, has applauded the Court of Appeal’s ruling upholding Governor Kabir Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) dismissal.
He claims that Umar Ganduje, the current chairman of the APC and a former governor of Kano State, has been justified by the ruling.
Muhammad said in a statement shortly after the Appeal Court’s decision on Friday that the ruling represented the desire of the people and the APC’s acceptance in the North West.
“I applaud the appellate court’s ruling, which has demonstrated Allah’s divine providence in confirming Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as the legitimately elected governor of the state of Kano.
The decision represents the end of a protracted and difficult legal struggle that had engulfed the state for months, affirming the tribunal’s decision and dismissing the appellant’s arguments.
It is important to stress that this ruling is a victory for the good people of Kano State, validating their mandate to Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and his deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo. It also provides relief from the NNPP government’s malicious and vindictive destruction of the Ganduje legacies.
“In conclusion, I commend the judiciary for their steadfast dedication to consistently stand by the side of justice,” the statement said.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, the Appeal Court removed Abba Yusuf as governor of Kano State and named APC candidate Nasir Ganuwa the victor of the March 18 governor’s race.
