On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a meeting with US Vice-President Kamala Harris at the White House. During their conversation, Democratic presidential candidate Harris expressed her worry about the humanitarian conditions in Gaza to the politician.

As the Israeli Prime Minister met with US Vice President Kamala Harris, outside the White House in Washington D.C., protesters converged to express their dissent against the war in Gaza.

Mrs. Harris expressed her “profound worry” about the state of human welfare in Gaza to Netanyahu during their meeting.

She declared, “We cannot ignore these tragedies. We cannot afford to become indifferent towards the pain and I refuse to remain silent.”

Netanyahu’s current visit to the White House marks his first since 2020. His arrival follows a contentious speech during which he asserted “total victory” against Hamas and labeled American individuals who oppose the Gaza conflict as “idiots.”

He further stressed that a triumph for Israel would mean the same for America, and encouraged their primary partner to provide additional military assistance.

After meeting with outgoing President Joe Biden, who is urging Israel and Hamas to reach a ceasefire agreement before his departure in January, Mr Netanyahu proceeded to meet with Mrs Harris.

After weeks of stagnant negotiations, Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary General expressed concerns about the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza by using the term ‘total anarchy’.

The UN Secretary cautioned that Gaza was experiencing complete anarchy with the absence of law and rules, leaving no one accountable for security. This has led to constant looting of convoys, creating a severe situation.

Following a Hamas-led attack in southern Israel that resulted in the deaths of 1,200 individuals, over 39,000 Palestinians have been reported dead in Gaza during the nine-month-long war.
