Kaduna receives IGP Special Squad hours after Kuriga schoolchildren rescue
Following the announcement of the rescue of 137 kidnapped Kaduna schoolchildren, the IGP Special Intervention Squad, deployed in response to the increasing banditry in the state, has now arrived in Kaduna.

The squad, comprising two hundred officers and personnel, was warmly welcomed by Governor Uba Sani at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna on Sunday, March 24.
Equipped with Armoured Personal Carriers (APC) and other advanced weapons, the squad is prepared to combat the rising threat of banditry in the region.
IGP Egbetokun, during his recent visit to Governor Sani after the abduction of the Kuriga school children, assured the deployment of a Police Mobile Force (PMF) to tackle banditry in the state.
Governor Sani expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetekun, for keeping his promise regarding the deployment of the Special Intervention Squad.
Additionally, Governor Uba Sani extended his appreciation to the federal government, specifically President Bola Tinubu, and the security agencies for the successful rescue of the kidnapped Kuriga School Children.
The arrival of the IGP Special Intervention Squad coincided with the anticipated return of the rescued school children to the Kaduna Government House.
Currently, Governor Uba Sani, his Deputy, and other key government officials are engaged in a closed-door meeting with security agency heads in the state and leaders of the Kuriga community to discuss further strategies and actions.
