At the Kaduna Stadium on Wednesday, Christian clergymen joined their Muslim counterparts to celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, in a moving demonstration of interreligious love and cooperation.
The gathering of church leaders at the occasion was led by Pastor Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry.
He claimed that the action is intended to promote harmonious coexistence, interreligious tolerance, and a deeper understanding of Muslims and Christians in the nation.
Buru emphasised that the Maulud festival offered a chance for Christians and Muslims to get together, connect, have a conversation, and share ideas with the same objective of fostering peace and unity in Nigeria.
Buru, joined by other pastors George John, Maxwell Sanda, Gabriel Stephen, and Rowland Sanda, emphasised the value of coming together to celebrate in order to advance peace and harmony in the nation.
“For more than ten years, Muslims in northern Nigeria had invited Pastor Buru and other Christian clergy to share in the celebration of the Holy Prophet’s birth,” he stated.
“We must keep in mind that there is only one God and that Adam and Eve are our parents. The Bible and the Qur’an are both holy books that came from the same God and that instruct us on how to coexist in peace and harmony.
He urged attendees of other tribes and religions to embrace one another and show compassion and forgiveness in order to advance the nation during his remarks at the event on fostering peace and harmony.
Buru urged Muslims and Christians to pray continuously for the country, stressing the need for divine intervention in Nigeria’s problems as a result of the growing insecurity in the nation, which includes murders, banditry, kidnappings, and ethno-religious crises, according to OBASANJONEWS24.
