Kaduna man is in court accused of fraudulently obtaining N2.3 million visa
Moshood Yusuf, 40, was charged on Tuesday with N2.3 million in visa fraud at a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The defendant, a Kawo, Kaduna resident, is charged with one count of fraud.
Nonetheless, he entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.

The defendant committed the act in March at Rigasa, Kaduna, according to the prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, who testified in court.
Leo stated that the accused person took N2.3 million from a woman named Rakiya Mohammed on the false pretence of granting her a three-year work permit to Dubai, even though she was aware that this was untrue.
He added that the defendant moved after receiving the money, only to be apprehended by security personnel.
According to the prosecution, the offence was in violation of Section 323 of the 2017 Kaduna State Penal Code.
The defendant was granted bail by Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel in the amount of N200,000, accompanied by two sureties in an equivalent quantity.
According to Emmanuel, one of the sureties ought to be a blood relative with documentation of their address.
He went on to say that the surety needed to provide three years of tax address verification.
The matter was postponed by the magistrate until November 16 in order to have a hearing. (NANO)
