The state administration of Kaduna has reassessed the tuition costs for residents attending colleges and universities there.

In a Monday press conference, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani remarked, “The current fees system in the State-owned higher institutions is oppressive and has resulted in a considerable reduction in student enrolments.

Many students have chosen to leave tertiary education altogether or transfer to other institutions as a result of the current rates.

He emphasised that adopting a competitive fees model in the higher institutions was crucial if we were to buck the trend.
