General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), has urged Nigerians to stand with their armed forces, stating that the unintentional military airstrike in Kaduna State should not cause them to lose hope.

The airstrike in the Igabi Local Government Area resulted in about 85 fatalities and numerous injuries, drawing criticism from a variety of sources.

Nonetheless, in response to mounting criticism of the troops over the military mishap, the defence chief, who acknowledged that soldiers are fallible, demanded greater backing.

“We must not demoralise our soldiers with our words or deeds. On Tuesday, he declared on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, “These guys stay awake so you can sleep.” It is simpler for you to claim that they are struggling and that they made a mistake. What happens if they leave these locations? We won’t even possess a nation.

“We recognise that, in general, everyone is unhappy. To be honest, we feel horrible too. He said, “Whenever we make mistakes, we own up to them and feel terrible about it, especially when we lose our own soldiers in battle.

“All we want Nigerians to know is that this was not a planned incident, and we will never intentionally target any of our citizens.” We’ll keep protecting innocent Nigerians because that is our mandate.

Regretfully, of the 99% of wins we have experienced, this one has elicited a lot of negative feedback. However, we are succeeding and we are aware that Nigerians desire success.

Prior to this, the Nigerian Army expressed remorse for the occurrence and called it “regrettable.”

Vice President Kashim Shettima, among other dignitaries and government representatives, visited the accident victims, and some of them gave money.
