During the maulud (birthday of Prophet Muhammad) celebration, a jet dropped a bomb at Tudun Biri village in the Igabi local government area of Kaduna state, suspected to have killed at least 31 people.
It was learned that the event occurred on Sunday night at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Over thirty people were killed instantly when the jet detonated the bomb when they were celebrating Maulud, the birthdate of Prophet Muhammad, according to a resident who begged to remain anonymous.
When reached, Samuel Aruwan, the State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs’ Overseeing Commissioner, stated that the administration would brief the media on the situation but did not disclose the number of casualties.
“We have a security meeting later, so we will brief the media about the situation at Government House. So let’s get together.
The Nigerian Tribune was provided with a statement by Nigerian Air Force commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information, which stated: “The news circulating that Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft inadvertently killed innocent civilians in Kaduna is false.”
“Please be advised that throughout the past 24 hours, there have been no air operations conducted by the NAF within Kaduna State and its surroundings.
Furthermore take note that other organisations are also using combat-armed drones in Nigeria’s northwest. The NAF is not the only one.
Additionally, it’s critical to make sure that the media always does its research before publishing rumours that haven’t been verified or validated.
