Kachikwu criticizes presidential candidates for refusing to discuss important issues
The ADC’s candidate for president urged INEC to hold honest elections.
Dumebi Kachikwu, the candidate for president from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticized some of his opponents for not talking about the “many crises” facing the country before the February 25 election.
In a statement on Wednesday, Kachikwu expressed his disappointment and joy at returning to work after spending two weeks in isolation due to a coronavirus infection.
“It is tragic that, with only one month until the presidential elections, the presidential candidates have not discussed the many problems afflicting our country.” Other than simply proclaiming that we need to shift from consumption to production, how can we fix our economy? What, where, and when is it produced?
“We must stop misleading our kids and the majority of Nigerians with platitudes and good-sounding words. How can our energy dilemma be resolved? Is it acceptable for Nigerians to consistently stand in lines to buy fuel or to experience darkness in 2023?
What about jobs, housing, a lack of infrastructure, security, and our sense of national identity? When will we have a detailed discussion and debate so that Nigerians are aware of the issues involved in this election? “Our country is in grave danger,” the ADC presidential candidate declared.
“Any presidential candidate who believes he can lead Nigeria without having a clear strategy for solving its issues from the start is dreaming,” he continued.
Kachikwu says that the failures of the political class are causing more than 120 million poor Nigerians to groan, and no one knows when the groaning will turn into an earthquake.
Also, he asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu, to drop out of the 2023 presidential election because of health problems.
The ADC candidate stated that he will not allow “a candidate with significant cognitive problems insulting my nation and making a farce of the entire political process,” even though he acknowledged that there is nothing wrong with being elderly or ill because everyone will age.
Ahmed Bola Tinubu “has no business participating in or carrying on this race,” he continued. He has stated that it is now his turn, and I think that he should pull out of this contest to uphold honor.
“I appeal to his family, his group, the APC, and President Buhari to persuade him to act morally.”
He also asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold fair elections. He said that INEC can’t keep acting like it doesn’t know about voter fraud at rallies all over the country.
