Kachalla Gudau, the leader of a group that committed kidnappings and murders in the Kaduna State LGAs of Chikun, Kachia, and Kajuru, was murdered by Nigerian Army troops.
According to the information that is now available, the event took place on Sunday in the Kankami area, and it has been established that Gudau was one of those slain by the forces as they resisted an attack that was being commanded by the infamous bandit himself.
The bandit’s body was found in the Kankomi Forest, where he had bled to death, according to a statement from the commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Samuel Aruwan. The bandit is rumored to have connections to other prominent kingpins in the North West and North Central regions.
Credible sources, according to Aruwan, said that once his remains were found, a sizable gang of bandits operating under his direction buried him somewhere near Kaku Forest, in the Kaso general region of Chikun LGA.
The identity of another bandit who was killed and whose bones were discovered by the soldiers has been established as ‘Rigimamme,’ a dependable criminal ally of Gudau.
Apart from killing kidnapped individuals and victims who resisted abduction, “Gudau played prominent roles in the joint kidnappings of students and expatriates in Kajuru, Chikun, and Kachia councils,” he said.
