Juventus, the renowned Italian football club, has issued a statement in response to the recent ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the payment of unpaid wages to their former player, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The CAS ordered Juventus to pay Ronaldo a significant sum of money, following a dispute that arose due to pay cuts implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Super League, claimed that Juventus owed him €19.5 million in unpaid wages, a substantial amount that the court has now ruled upon.

As a result of the court’s decision, Juventus will be required to pay Ronaldo approximately half of the amount he had initially demanded, reaching a settlement of €9.8 million.
In their official statement, Juventus acknowledged the ruling by the arbitration tribunal, confirming their obligation to pay Ronaldo the specified amount due to their pre-contractual liability.
Furthermore, Juventus expressed their intention to challenge the ruling, indicating that they are currently reviewing the decision with the assistance of their legal advisors and are considering all possible actions to protect their rights.
