Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia is reinstated by NJC as Federal High Court judge
Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia has been appointed a judge of the Federal High Court once more by the National Judicial Council (NJC). The reinstatement is effective right away.
Justice John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, signed the directive dated December 5.
“Your Lordships are thus notified that during the Meeting of the National Judicial Council held on the First of December, 2022, the Council reinstated the Hon. Justice R. N. Ofili-Ajumogobia as a Judicial Officer,” he said in his letter.
“The reinstatement is effective immediately, and there will be a posting of consequences.”
The message also included copies for the Chief Registrar of the Court, the Director of the Library, and the Deputy Director of Finance and Accounts.
Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia was charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with money laundering and violation of public trust in November 2016.
All of the accusations against her, however, have been annulled and dismissed by the courts.
