President Bola Tinubu made an appeal to Nigerians on Tuesday, urging those who are planning a nationwide hunger protest to reconsider their plans.
He requested that citizens grant his administration adequate time to attend to their issues.
Following private discussions with President Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation relayed this statement to the media.

According to Idris, the President believes that there is no need for a planned protest and has requested that it be postponed so as to await the government’s response.
Therefore a strike would not be necessary. The youth are advised by the President himself to remain patient while he works towards fulfilling all promises made in their favor.
This plea comes after widespread demands for countrywide demonstrations from August 1-10 in reaction to the increasing expenses and financial challenges.
