On Sunday, terrorists broke into a female dormitory at the Federal University in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Before kidnapping two female students from the university’s Microbiology Department, the crooks assaulted Sabon Gida hamlet in Bungudu and broke into the university’s rented female dormitories. There, they locked up the two civilian guards and robbed them of their cellphones.
Police Public Relations Officer in Zamfara, SP Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the occurrence and added that when the police tactical unit arrived on the site, the thugs had already left with the victims to an unidentified location.
He said that further reinforcement had been sent out by the police commissioner to support the continuing rescue effort.
Thus, Shehu added, “The Commissioner of Police is calling for ongoing assistance from members of the public to allow the police to succeed in the rescue attempt.”
