The appeal filed by Muhammad Sani Yahaya of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) against the election of Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas has been dismissed by the Supreme Court.
In a unanimous judgment, a five-member panel of the court concluded that the NNPP and its candidate were unable to prove their case that Kefas was not elected by the majority of valid votes. Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba, who delivered the lead judgment, stated that the Court of Appeal was correct in dismissing the appeal due to incomplete records of appeal.
Consequently, Justice Lawal upheld the judgment of the Court of Appeal, affirming Kefas’ election.
Further details will be provided soon.
