Media allegations that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara dismissed State Chief Judge Justice Simeon Amadi and his Chief of Staff, Hon. Chidi Amadi, and suspended the Chairmen of the 23 Local Government Areas have been refuted.
In the wake of the commotion that followed the governor’s attempted impeachment and caused the State House of Assembly to tremble, there were also persistent rumours that the governor had sacked his chief security officer.

According to several media sites, Fubara used the large implement against the former governor’s and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike’s supporters, in an effort to assert his authority.
Hon. Amadi, Fubara’s CoS, is Wike’s relative from Obio/Akpor LGA, according to our correspondent. Amadi was appointed during the Wike administration, while Dr. Tamyy Danagogo held a similar position during that time.
Warisenibo Johnson, the state commissioner for information and communications, declared in a statement released on Tuesday morning that the reports in question, which he deemed to be baseless, included not a shred of reality.
Fubara is a kind-hearted person who follows the law and acts out of fear of God, according to Johnson, who also characterises him as a “technocrat with robust civil service background.”
The statement titled “Unfounded Reports” states that some categories of his aides and local council chairmen have been sacked by His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, according to unsubstantiated reports that have been circulating on various media platforms.
“To be clear, as of today, Tuesday, October 31, 2023, His Excellency has not given me such a command in my capacity as the state government’s official spokesperson.
Our beloved governor is a technocrat who has a strong foundation in the civil service. He is also very kind, kind, and follows the law with a fear of God.
Because the public will be duly notified about who may have been removed by His Excellency at the appropriate time, we kindly ask the people of Rivers and the wider public to discard such unverified rumours.
It is important to remember that I will inform the public of developments as they happen in my capacity as Commissioner for Information and Communication.
