JUST IN: Petrol Price Hits N1,030 at NNPCL Stations in FCT as Fuel Costs Soar
NNPCL fuel stations in Abuja hike petrol prices to N1,030 per litre, prompting worries about the economic strain on residents and businesses in the FCT.
Transportation costs in the Federal Capital Territory are expected to soar after some Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited stations in Abuja raised petrol prices on Wednesday.
Our correspondent noted that the national oil company’s stations have increased the retail price of petrol from N897 to N1,030 per litre at various locations in the FCT.
The latest price adjustment, marking the second increase within a month, reflects a 14.8 percent hike or an N133 rise.
At the NNPCL mega station in Central Area, a customer told OBASANJONEWS that the product was priced at N1,030.

The station failed to show its prices on both the signboard and the pump meter, keeping customers unaware of fuel costs. Instead, they only received price information verbally from the fuel attendants.
“I’m extremely frustrated at the moment. I went into this station expecting their prices to be better, but only after wasting time in line did the fuel attendant inform me that the price had increased to N1,030,” said a customer who chose not to disclose his name.
However, our correspondent found that independent marketers’ stations such as Conoil and Total Energies, located opposite the NNPCL headquarters, were selling the product at N926 but had long queues.
