JUST IN: Ondo SSG Passes Away Days After Tragic Road Accident
The Secretary to the Ondo State Government has sadly passed away, succumbing to injuries sustained in a recent tragic road accident.
The Ondo State Government has formally announced the death of Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi, who served as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
In a statement issued by Chief ‘Wale Akinlosotu, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, the government conveyed deep sorrow over the passing of the distinguished public servant.
According to the statement, Mr. Oluwatuyi died on Saturday, January 4th, at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife.
He was hospitalized after a car accident on December 15, 2024, along the Ile-Ife/Ibadan highway.
“The Government of Ondo State deeply regrets to announce the passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, who served as Secretary to the State Government (SSG), on January 4,” stated the announcement.
The statement emphasized Mr. Oluwatuyi’s dedication as a public servant, noting that he made significant contributions to the state through his roles in administration.
Oluwatuyi was a devoted public servant whose steadfast dedication to administrative coordination, policy advice, and implementation greatly influenced Ondo State.
He served with distinction and was instrumental in the state government, collaborating closely with the Governor and other senior officials from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
The statement added that Oluwatuyi, who served the government in various roles such as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and twice as SSG, will always be remembered for his significant contributions to the development of Ondo State.
The government expressed its condolences to the Oluwatuyi family, friends, and associates. Akinlosotu stated that details regarding the burial arrangements will be provided in due time.
