JUST IN: NNPC to Sell Dangote Petrol at N1,019/Litre in Borno, N950 in Lagos

NNPC announces the sale price of Dangote petrol at N1,019 per litre in Borno and N950 per litre in Lagos, reflecting regional pricing variations.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced that the petrol extracted from Dangote Refinery will be sold at a rate exceeding N1,000 per litre in northern regions.

On Monday, the NNPC representative Olufemi Soneye revealed in a statement titled “NNPC Ltd Releases Estimated Pump Prices of PMS from Dangote Refinery Based on September 2024 Pricing” that this was the case.

According to Soneye, in areas such as Borno State, the price could reach up to N1,019 per litre while it may be around N999.22 in Abuja, Sokoto and Kano among others.

In the Southern zones of Oyo, Rivers and nearby locations, the cost will amount to N960 per liter.

According to an infographic recently released by the NNPC, the minimum price in Lagos and surrounding areas is N950.

The estimated prices of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol (obtained from the Dangote Refinery), have been recently announced by NNPC Ltd for its retail stations throughout the country.

He stated that the NNPC Ltd wants to clarify that in accordance with the regulations of the Petroleum Industry Act, PMS prices are not fixed by the government but negotiated at an arm’s length between concerned parties.

According to the company’s explanation, the Sunday shipment was purchased with US currency.

Confirming the payment for September 2024 PMS offtake, NNPC Ltd affirms that Dangote Refinery is being paid in USD as naira transactions will initiate only on October 1, 2024.

According to the statement, NNPC Ltd guarantees that in case of any disputes with the quoted pricing, they would highly appreciate a discount from Dangote Refinery and ensure its complete transferal to the public.

As per his statement, the projected PMS pump prices were sourced from Dangote Refinery and will be implemented across NNPC retail outlets nationwide by September 2024.

Remember that on Sunday, the Dangote Group disputed the NNPC’s claim of selling PMS at N898, but it did not disclose its own list of prices.
