JUST IN: Man caught in Sierra Leone who was wanted for allegedly killing his girlfriend in Lagos
Best Nnanyereugo, also known as Killaboi, was apprehended in Sierra Leone after the Nigerian police had issued a warrant for his arrest in connection with the alleged murder of his fiancée.
The arrest of Killaboi was announced on Saturday by Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police.
According to reports, Nnanyereugo was captured on Friday in a nightclub in Freetown.
On October 10, the Lagos State Police Command issued a wanted notice for Killaboi in connection with the passing of his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion.
This came after Nnanyereugo, his 21-year-old lover, admitted to killing Augusta Osedion.
On July 13, Osedion was allegedly murdered in Killaboi’s residence at Oral Estate in the state’s Ajah region.
On July 17, the gambler claimed that he “mistakenly” killed Osedion by stabbing her during a dispute.

In response to what had happened, he had remarked, “What is life now? I want to give myself in. I’m not a nasty person, I swear. But with what has happened, I think I deserve nothing but death. I will gladly die, by hanging, by shooting, whatever fate has for me.
“Oh God, why this? I can’t live with the guilt of knowing the girl I loved so deeply died in my hands,” said the victim. What should I do? I want to die, and I deserve it.
Hundeyin had previously stated that the police had to make the public disclosure since they were unable to catch the gambler using other tactics.
In addition, he requested anyone with knowledge regarding Killaboi’s whereabouts to get in touch with the police.
