A fuel tanker has burst into flames in Jigawa, marking yet another incident as authorities respond to the scene. Updates on casualties and safety measures are awaited.
A fuel-laden tanker erupted in flames on Wednesday at the Jigawa-Kano border in Northwest Nigeria, causing panic among bystanders.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, and authorities have not yet released information regarding any casualties or damage to property.
Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene to control the fire and stop it from spreading further.

Local authorities have recommended that residents avoid the area to ensure their safety during the ongoing investigations.
Aliyu reported that on November 12, 2024, at around 10:43 AM, the Federal Fire Service received an emergency call from Zubairu Ahmad, the head of Kuho Village. The call was about a tanker accident occurring at Tsaida in Kwanar Kalle near Gamoji village along Maiduguri Road.
“The FFS quickly responded and reached the scene by 10:50 hours, successfully containing and bringing the fire under control,” Aliyu stated.
This development follows a similar incident in October that led to more than 170 fatalities, occurring just one month ago.
The incident took place on October 15, 2024, when a truck transporting petrol from Kano to Nguru in Yobe State exploded in Majia within the Taura Local Government Area.
