In a ruling read by Justice James Omotoso, the court directed the governor of the state, Siminalaye Fubara, to present the budget to the House of Assembly, which is duly constituted and led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule.
James Omotoso ruled that he lacked the constitutional authority to revoke the withholding of the House of Assembly budget on the ground.
Governor Fubara was ordered by the court to refrain from obstructing the House of Assembly’s session or meddling in its internal matters.
The Governor’s decision to redistribute the Clerk and Deputy Clerk was deemed invalid and revoked.
The Inspector General of Police was directed to provide the Speaker and lawmakers who support former Governor Nyesom Wike with sufficient security right now.
The Clerk and the Deputy Clerk were directed by Justice Omotoso to return to work right away and without interference.
Additionally, it was forbidden for the National Assembly to accept or handle any requests from Governor Fubara or to seize control of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Martin Amaewhule was to get the release of all funds held in the House of Assembly’s credit from Governor Fubara.
