JUST IN: Fred Ajudua Apprehended by Police in Abuja
Fred Ajudua has been apprehended and confined by the police in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on suspicion of land fraud and forgery, as per a report from SaharaReporters. The report stated that Ajudua had been in custody for three days at the time of the report’s publication.
SaharaReporters disclosed in 2022 how Ajudua, who was facing trial for allegedly swindling a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi, of $8.4 million, was exposed through leaked phone conversations where he was seen associating with police officials and high-ranking magistrates.
The online publication highlighted that Ajudua’s most recent court appearance was in December 2021, during which a Lagos High Court directed him to undergo a COVID-19 test at the Yaba Infectious Diseases Centre’s laboratory after he failed to attend court proceedings on three consecutive occasions, as ordered by Justice Josephine Oyefeso.
