Emirates Airlines resumes flights to Lagos, Nigeria, after a two-year suspension. Learn more about the reasons for the hiatus and the impact on travelers.
Following a two-year hiatus, Emirates, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has recommenced its flights to Lagos.
The airline halted its operations due to multiple unresolved problems, one of which is the issue of trapped funds owed to them in Nigeria.
Flight EK 783 touched down at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) at 3:32 PM on Tuesday. The Boeing 777-300ER, which has a seating capacity of up to 392 passengers, arrived with numerous empty seats. While the precise number of passengers was not available, several travelers noted that the flight had plenty of vacant spots.

Even with fewer attendees, passengers commended the exceptional quality of onboard service.
A passenger commented, “The flight was quite empty, but as always, the services were excellent. This makes sense since it’s the first flight in many years.”
