JUST IN: El-Rufai takes Kaduna Assembly to court over N432bn probe

Regarding the N432 billion probe findings, Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate former governor of Kaduna State, filed a lawsuit against the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

Bello, El-Rufai’s son, revealed that his father had filed a lawsuit to stop the state assembly from defaming his reputation.

Posting on X, Bello stated: “Today, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai filed a lawsuit against the Kaduna State House of Assembly for defamation of his character and other baseless accusations made against him.

“I suggest they begin gathering legal costs to defend their fabrications in court.”

Remember when El-Rufai’s government was charged with N423 billion in crimes?

At a town hall meeting on March 30, 2024, Governor Uba Sani disclosed that the state was saddled with a significant debt load consisting of $587 million, N85 billion, and 115 contractual liabilities that were left over from the previous administration.

According to Sani, the state’s allotment was used to service the inherited debt to the tune of more than 70% due to the debt load.

An ad hoc committee was then established by the Kaduna State House of Assembly to look into the state’s financial transactions from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023.
