Cletus Tyokyaa, the director general of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign council, was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for having N100,000.
In a press conference with journalists shortly after the vote in his hometown of Gbajimba, Guma LGA, Governor Samuel Ortom revealed the information.

He said that the anti-graft agency caught Tyokyaa after discovering the cash in his possession.
“I heard from the director general of our campaign that he had been taken into custody by the EFCC this morning for carrying N100,000. And what is that? Do they act as a destabilising force? It’s unfortunate.
“Why should they choose someone only because they have N100,000? I want to request that the EFCC release him right away. The governor yelled angrily, “I have more than N100,000 on me, but I’m not buying votes and he wasn’t buying votes.
