JUST IN: Court Sacks Ohinoyi of Ebiraland from Throne
A Nigerian court has removed the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland from his royal position, sparking reactions across the region. Details of the ruling are emerging.
A high court in Lokoja, Kogi State, has deposed His Majesty Ahmed Muhammed Tajani Anaje from his position as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
On Monday, Justice Salisu Umar of High Court 6 issued a ruling instructing the dethroned monarch to stop identifying as the principal traditional leader of Ebiraland.
Dr. Barnabas Adeku Ojiah, along with two other plaintiffs, filed the case in court to contest the legitimacy of Anaje’s position.
The lawsuit identified the Governor of Kogi State as the defendant, aiming to resolve a legal issue concerning the region’s traditional leadership.
