JUST IN: Akwa-Ibom gubernatorial election results have been announced by INEC
In the gubernatorial election conducted on March 18, Mr. Umo Eno of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been proclaimed the victor by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The results were revealed by the returning officer, Prof. Emmanuel Adigio, Vice Chancellor of Nigerian Maritime University, Delta, on Sunday in Uyo.

Sen. Bassey Akpan of the Young Progressive Party was defeated by Eno in 29 of the state’s 31 Local Government Areas, according to Adigio (YPP).
According to him, the PDP candidate received 354,348 votes, defeating her close ally from the Young Progressive Party (YPP), who received 136,262 votes.
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) received 12,509 votes, the Labour Party (LP) received 4,746 votes, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 129,602 votes, according to him.
