The Nigerian Police have announced the arrest of three suspected kidnappers who have been causing terror in the Bwari area of Abuja.
The suspects have been identified as Idris Ishaku, Bala Umar, and Dahiru Salisu. In addition to these arrests, the police have also apprehended over a dozen other suspected criminals and have recovered sophisticated weapons.
This achievement is attributed to the recently launched Special Intervention Squad (SIS). Furthermore, the police statement highlights the arrest of a notorious kidnapper named Chinaza Michael in Kaduna. Michael was apprehended while transporting a kidnap victim from Abuja to Kano with his gang members.
The successful operations of the SIS have been made possible through the collaborative efforts of various police departments and state commands.
Today, the police paraded three Bwari-based kidnappers who have been responsible for a series of armed robbery cases and kidnappings in the Bwari Local Government Area and other parts of Abuja.
The suspects, identified as Idris Ishaku, Bala Umar, and Dahiru Salisu, have been apprehended and are now in custody.
This is a significant achievement for the combined team of operatives who have also arrested thirteen other suspects involved in various crimes.
One notable success was the foiling of a kidnap plot, leading to the arrest of the aforementioned kidnappers and the recovery of weapons from them.
Additionally, in a separate operation, a victim who was abducted along with his Hilux Van was rescued, and one suspect named Chinaza Philip Okoye Michael was apprehended.
It was discovered that Michael and his accomplices had previously been arrested for similar offenses but continued to commit crimes while on bail.
Furthermore, the police intercepted a gunrunner named Everest Magaji during negotiations with notorious bandits. As a result, eleven pistols and two pump-action guns were seized from the suspect. These operations demonstrate the proactive and diligent efforts of the police in maintaining law and order in the Federal Capital Territory.
