Nigeria is celebrating 25 years of uninterrupted return to democracy, and Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the nation’s economic challenges.
June 12 is an annual day dedicated to celebrating democracy, but currently, many Nigerians are living in poverty and facing numerous security challenges.
In his message to Nigerians, Atiku Abubakar expressed that the past nine years of the APC administration have brought hardship and extreme poverty to the people.
He blamed the ruling party for the current state of gloom in the country. Atiku also criticized the opposition parties for their failure to unite and present a governance plan that would inspire confidence among Nigerians.
He emphasized the importance of democracy as the only viable form of government and highlighted the significance of June 12 as Democracy Day in Nigeria, commemorating the nation’s journey towards stability.
Atiku paid tribute to the sacrifices made by notable patriots such as Basorun MKO Abiola, Alhaja (Mrs) Kudirat Abiola, Tafida Shehu Yar’Adua, and Alfred Rewane, among others.
