The suspect accused of involvement in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur has been denied bail once more, as the legal proceedings continue to unfold in this high-profile case.

The man accused of Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder in Los Angeles was denied bail by a judge in the United States.

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, a former Los Angeles gang leader who is in poor health, stands alone as the sole individual ever accused of involvement in the drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of an iconic hip-hop artist.

As per prosecutors, the shooting that caused Shakur’s death resulted from a rivalry between two distinct gangs. One of these groups purportedly consisted of Davis and his associates.

Despite making multiple requests for release on bail since being arrested in September 2023, the ex-gang leader has been denied each time. The set amount for his bail stands at $750,000.

Judge Carli Kierny expressed doubts about the validity of the funds offered for his release when dismissing his most recent petition.

She expressed skepticism regarding the transparency of the funds, hinting that there may have been attempts to hide their actual source.

Kierny expressed doubt regarding Davis and the music executive, who are supposedly financing the money, not having intentions to generate profits from selling his life story.

Financial gain resulting from their crimes is prohibited by Nevada law for convicted killers.

Pleading not guilty to first-degree murder, Davis denies the accusation.

The trial start date, originally set for November 4th, has been postponed by the judge to March of next year.
