The Labour Party’s nominee, Peter Obi, has received praise from the former president, Goodluck Jonathan, who said that Obi was the first presidential contender to head a delegation to his office.

Prior to Obi’s rally in Bayelsa State on Friday, a courtesy visit was made to Jonathan’s residence in Yenagoa.

The former president praised Obi for his respectful public comments and told him to put Nigeria’s unity first if he is elected.

“I appreciate you being the first presidential contender to make me a polite visit,” the man stated. I want to take this chance to congratulate you on your efforts.

According to political figures I’ve been listening to, sometimes our supporters hurt us more than we hurt them. And I must congratulate you because your statements to this point have not indicated any division. Just keep acting morally.

If you win, you will lead the country as president rather than representing any particular group of people.

“We need to be united if Nigeria is to advance.” In the late 1950s and early 1960s, promises that Nigeria and some other nations would catch up led us to wonder why we were where we were now. Intellectuals who research the world and make predictions about it say that countries like Nigeria, India, Brazil, and others will leave us but that we will remain in our current location. We Nigerians must ask ourselves, “Why can’t we move with the rest of the world?”

“Tribal and religious attitudes are present practically everywhere, but the level in Nigeria is particularly crippling.” We are being pulled backward by it. We live in a nation to which we do not have a sense of belonging. According to the majority of our leaders, Nigeria is not a country. We all come from different countries and have distinct regional accents, but I think young people, especially if we want to advance, should set such differences aside.

Every country and nation has its own history.Nigerians must identify with being Nigerians. We need to perceive each other as one. Furthermore, if I were to become president, it would make little difference if the best candidate for a position came from Enugu, Ibadan, or Sokoto. And until our country reaches that stage, we are unable to travel. Due to our strong tribal, religious, and linguistic feelings, we have been trying to fit square pegs into round holes.

“If by divine providence you are elected, your first duty is to bring Nigeria together.” We cannot resolve our security issues without cooperation. We cannot resolve our economic issues if we are not united. The beginning of a new Nigeria and the revolution and progress that will occur are possible if you unite Nigeria.

An ecstatic Obi thanked him for his kind offer and hospitality and vowed to try his best to bring the people together.

He has also promised that if he is elected president on February 25, he will bring the country back to its former glory.

“Today, nobody can discuss peace and harmony without mentioning you.” All that we have advocated for the duration of our campaign is the unification of Nigeria and the restoration of Nigeria to its previous status as the world’s most populous country.

“All of these are in reference to you, so I have come personally to show my respect and loyalty as your junior brother.” “You must have given your own endorsement, I’m sure,” he continued.
