President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the need for unity and collaboration among the federal government, state governors, and members of the National Assembly to achieve the nation’s development goals.
During a meeting with state governors and the leadership of the National Assembly in Lagos, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, on behalf of the President, expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic resurgence and called for collective efforts to propel the nation forward.
He urged all stakeholders to unite and work together towards shared prosperity, highlighting President Tinubu’s role as a unifying leader who transcends ethnic and religious boundaries. The gathering of 27 governors, along with the leadership of the National Assembly and former governors, is a testament to President Tinubu’s inclusive leadership style.
The Vice-President emphasized that what binds the nation together is stronger than anything that may divide it.
The Vice President emphasized that Nigeria holds the key to the future of the black man, highlighting the pivotal role the country plays in shaping the destiny of its people. He expressed optimism about the economy’s trajectory, predicting a resurgence in the coming months that will restore it to its former glory.
Senate President Akpabio praised state governors for following President Tinubu’s leadership approach, which involves actively listening to various perspectives and engaging with people from all political backgrounds. Drawing from his own experience, he commended the governors for their performance.
Senator Akpabio expressed his confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership abilities, noting the widespread support the president enjoys from Nigerians regardless of their political leanings. He offered prayers for the success of both the president and the governors seeking re-election for a second term.
Governor AbdulRazaq voiced his endorsement for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, recognizing its potential to significantly benefit the nation upon completion. He commended the President’s efforts in stabilizing the economy and enhancing living standards, attributing positive developments such as exchange rate stability and reduced food prices to the President’s initiatives. Additionally, he applauded the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s funding for primary healthcare centers.
The Governor expressed his appreciation for the progress being made, as the ship is slowly changing its course.
He acknowledged the positive developments such as the decrease in the exchange rate of the naira against the dollar, the reduction in food prices, and the upcoming harvest season. The Governor also encouraged President Tinubu to persevere in his pursuit of economic stability. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Federal Government in distributing grains to address food shortages.
The Governor assured the President of their support and thanked him for the assistance being provided to the states. He highlighted that due to these efforts, hoarded food items are being released, resulting in a decrease in food prices. Governor AbdulRazaq reiterated the commitment of the governors to support the President’s initiatives and pledged to continue working alongside the federal government to drive progress and prosperity throughout the nation.
