The talented musician Johnny Drille claims that Rema, his record label partner, and his colleagues don’t receive enough recognition for their outstanding contributions to the Nigerian music industry and beyond.
The “Believe Me” singer claimed that despite Rema’s many young musical accomplishments, Nigerians don’t value him because of bias.
Speaking recently in an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos, Johnny Drille stated, “Not to be provocative or anything, but everyone would be yelling at their lungs like, ‘Hey! This individual is violating the rules.

And I don’t think we give Rema enough credit for some very amazing things he’s accomplished given his age. He really has one of the most popular songs in the world, not just in Africa, with “Calm Down,” which has been in the Billboard Top 10 for about a year. In the history of African music, nothing like that has ever been done. Additionally, he is playing numerous sold-out events across the globe.
I simply get the impression that he’s just getting started. We must extend greater recognition to the young man.
