Members of the Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly of Healthcare Professionals (JOHESU) have announced a seven-day warning strike, starting at midnight tonight.
The most recent strike follows a fifteen-day warning of industrial action given to the Federal Government.
During a press conference in Abuja, Kabiru Minjibir, the national chairman of the union, outlined some of its demands.
The demands encompass the prompt introduction of a unified health salary structure, settlement of twenty-five percent arrears from June to December 2023, an increase in the retirement age for healthcare workers, tax exemptions on allowances for these professionals, and immediate payment of COVID-19 inducement hazard allowance along with other requests.
The organization is requesting all its members nationwide to adhere to the directive.
